Date: Wednesday 27th November 2024
 
Time: Commences 6.00pm
 
Where: Coomera Indoor Stadium, Hope Island B Meeting room, 35 Beattie Rd, Coomera

All positions will be declared vacant at the meeting.

Treasurer and
General Committee members (x5)

Any member of the Coomera City Warriors can nominate to be on the committee. Simply download a copy of the nomination form. Fill it out. Get it signed & Return back to our secretary by 5:00pm on November 13th.

How to Nominate for the Committee

If you are interested in becoming a member of the management committee for the Coomera City Warriors Basketball Club, please follow these steps to submit your nomination:

  1. Eligibility:

    • Ensure you are a financial member of the Coomera City Warriors Basketball Club.
    • Review the roles available on the committee (e.g., President, Treasurer, Secretary, General Committee Members) to determine where you would like to contribute.
  2. Nomination Process:

    • Find a nominator: Two current members of the association must nominate you for the position.
    • Complete the Nomination Form: Fill out the Nomination Form, which should include:
      • Your full name and contact information.
      • The position you wish to apply for.
      • Signatures of your nominators.
  3. Submission:

    • Submit your completed Nomination Form to the Secretary of the Coomera City Warriors Basketball Club.
    • Ensure your nomination is submitted at least 14 days before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to allow for proper review and announcement.
  4. Posting of Nominations:

    • A list of candidates’ names, along with the names of their nominators, will be posted in a conspicuous place on the club’s website at least seven days before the AGM.
  5. Voting:

    • During the AGM, members will have the opportunity to vote for candidates nominated for each position.
  6. Questions:

    • If you have any questions about the nomination process or need assistance with your nomination, please reach out to a current committee member for guidance.

1. Eligibility to Vote

  • All members in good standing (those who have paid their membership dues and meet other club-specific criteria) are eligible to vote.
  • Voting rights are generally extended to members who are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian can vote on behalf of the minor.

2. Voting Options

  • In-Person Voting: Members attending the AGM in person can cast their votes during the meeting. Ballots will be provided at the venue.
  • Proxy Voting: If you can’t attend, you may designate another member to vote on your behalf by filling out a proxy form. For proxy voting see information below. ‘Request a proxy form‘. Proxy forms must be returned to the club secretary by Monday 25th November – 6:00pm (48 hours before the start of the AGM).

3. Voting Process

  • Each motion or election will be presented at the AGM. Members can cast votes on individual items as they’re raised.
  • Votes are usually counted by the AGM committee or independent auditors, ensuring a transparent and fair process.

4. Results Announcement

  • Voting results will be announced at the end of the AGM and posted on the club’s website or sent via email to all members shortly after the meeting.

Who Can Vote at the AGM?

To ensure fair representation, voting at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is available to all eligible members. Here’s a breakdown of the eligibility requirements:

  1. Membership Status

    • Only current members who are in good standing with the club are eligible to vote. This means that any outstanding membership dues or requirements must be fulfilled before the AGM to retain voting rights.
  2. Minimum Age Requirement

    • Voting rights are extended to members aged 18 or older.
    • If the member is under 18; a parent or legal guardian can vote on behalf of the minor.
  3. Membership Duration

    • Members must be currently registered with the club.
  4. One Vote per Member

    • Each eligible member is entitled to one vote per topic, ensuring equal representation for all qualified individuals.
